The JVC DLA-X900R Sets New Standards with 4K e-shift3.

Selected parts and matched devices are at the heart of the DLA-X900RKT. Factory technicians ensure that the components used are optimized for each unit - producing images of exquisite quality and the industry’s highest native contrast ratio of 150,000:1. JVC’s exclusive 4K e-shift3 combined with the three D-ILA devices produces a flicker free image with 3840x2160 resolution on-screen. The 4K enabled HDMI inputs will accept 4K 60P source material, and the built in up-conversion system will convert 1080P content into 4K. For 2014, JVC added an Intelligent Lens Aperture which results in a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 1,500,000:1. The DLA-X900RKT is the pinnacle of performance in projection.

4K e-Shift3.
The Native 4K sources provide a significant boost in picture quality. From the original 4K data JVC creates an A frame and a B frame. There is no interpolation. Through a proprietary process, the correct pixels are selected for each frame. The projector works at double the conventional speed. Then, the 4K e-shift3 mechanism takes each B frame and shifts it down and over ½ a pixel. This creates four 4K sub-pixels in the space of one conventional HD pixel. The viewers’ eyes and brain combine the A frame and B frame to create the projected 4K e-shift3 image which is seen on the screen.

Illumination System.
A 230W SHP lamp is rated for up to 4,000 hours in standard lamp mode or 3,000 hours in high lamp mode. The power supply is matched specifically to this lamp.

Native Contrast/Intelligent Lens Aperture.
Contrast ratio - a specification that describes a device's ability to reproduce deep blacks and bright whites - is widely recognized as a key performance parameter for home theater display products.

3D Enabled.
JVC has a long history of innovation in 3D. Today, JVC studio monitors are used in movie production and broadcast quality JVC processors are the defacto standard for advanced 2D-3D conversion.

3D Performance.
All JVC 4K e-shift3 projectors offer outstanding 3D performance with minimal 3D ghosting & crosstalk. For 2014 it is now possible to use high speed Clear Motion Drive when watching 3D.

THX Certification/THX Calibration.
The DLA-X900RKT offers THX 3D Display Certification. During the THX 3D certification process more than 400 laboratory tests are conducted. These tests evaluate color accuracy, cross-talk, viewing angles and video processing to ensure the high quality 3D and 2D display performance that home theater enthusiasts demand.

ISF Calibration.
The DLA-X900RKT is licensed with the ISF C 3 (Certified Calibration Controls) mode, enabling trained professionals to calibrate the projector to specific screen surfaces, lighting environments and video sources. These precise settings are then stored in the projector to ensure reproduction of film or video content faithful to the source with excellent picture quality in all viewing situations.

Clear Motion Drive 3.
The JVC 120hz high speed display process which is designed to improve video with rapid movement. For 2014, it has been dramatically improved and can now be used in 4K and 3D as well as Full HD. JVC has further enhanced its detection interpolation technology through high precision algorithms. Two modes are available to smooth motion in a wider range of video content. Clear Motion Drive reduces blur that is generated by high speed scenes such as sporting events and high speed action sequences, enhancing the viewing experience.
