Samyang 7.5mm T3.8 Fisheye VDSLR Cine lens.
The Samyang 7.5 T3.8 Fisheye VDSLR / Cine lens is the video version of the Samyang 7.5mm f/3.5 UMC Fisheye Lens. Designed for MFT (Micro Four Thirds) camera systems, including Panasonic Lumix G, Olympus OM-D / Pen, Black Magic Pocket Cinema Cameras / Studio cameras with MFT mount. Its compact size makes it extremely convenient to carry, and provides 180° fisheye perspective.
Optically the same as the 7.5mm f3.5 version, this video version features focus and aperture gear rings enabling instant compatibility to follow focus systems and video rigs. The Aperture is step-less for smooth aperture transitions with precise operation, and the aperture marked in standard T-stops which is the actual light transmission through the lens. As with Samyang's other cinema lenses, the markings are on the side of the lens barrel, again to assist if mounted on video rigs.
Optical construction of Samyang 7.5mm T3.8 Cine UMC Fish-eye features 9 lenses in 7 groups. A glass aspherical lens (ASP) is included among the lens elements to deliver high image quality and contrast throughout centre and corner of image even at wider apertures. Offering an exceptionally wide angle of view, up to 180 degrees diagonally, the 7.5 mm gives a unique fish-eye perspective and makes it a very useful lens for making panoramic photographs and virtual tours with 3rd party hardware and software.
As with all current Samyang lenses it features manual focus, but with such a large depth of field focus can be roughly set with to distance scale on the lens, or for very critical operations can be focused with zooming in to live-view which all MFT cameras offer.
